Frisco concluded the regular season with a typically high-scoring affair. Wichita scored in seven of nine innings but lost.
In his first game in the field, Sebastian Walcott handled three grounders without issue.
Among league hitters playing at least half the schedule, Rafe Perich (.321), Dylan Dreiling (.312) and Marcus Lee Sang (.307) ranked second, third and fourth in batting average, respectively. Perich was fourth with a .405 OBP and second with a .576 slugging percentage. Perich will lead the organization in homers with 27, followed by Disla with 25 and Dreiling with 22.

Round Rock’s Tyson Miller threw 69 pitches in his first two innings. Not until the 35th and final pitch of the 1st was a ball put in play, and the 2nd had no balls in play until his 25th pitch. I was there. It was awful.
The other teams were off. Frisco, clinging to a playoff spot, headed to Amarillo for a season-concluding series. (Jaws theme begins.)
Ten years ago, Bakersfield’s seven decades of affiliated minor league ball ended with a loss to Visalia. Texas-affiliated High Desert knocked off Houston-affiliated Lancaster to reach the league finals. Lancaster starter Jose Urquidy was brilliant through seven, but the Mavericks scored six against the bullpen.
